I recently wrote about my move to Amsterdam. As soon as I was settled enough, I began to tour all the Virtuoso hotels here, starting with Hotel TwentySeven.

Hotel TwentySeven is in the heart of Dam Square in Amsterdam. With only 16 suites, this boutique and luxurious property combines service that is warm, friendly, and personal with modern designs and a chic atmosphere.

The hotel is situated on the 3rd floor to the 6th floor of the building. On the 3rd floor guests can find the bar and restaurant. On floors 4, 5, and 6 they can find the suites.

ALL their Signature suites are located on the 6th floor.

If you love fine dining, then you are going to love the fact that Hotel TwentySeven Amsterdam offers guests a Michelin star restaurant, Restaurant Bougainville. While the food is obviously the main attraction, it is important to note that most tables are situated by windows that offer a wonderful view of the city.

What makes Hotel TwentySeven Amsterdam special?

One question I always like to ask the staff is this what is at the heart of this hotel?

At Hotel TwentySeven, it is the staff, they really do make a difference. Everyone is passionate about their area of work. I was able to see it and experience it. From the moment that I stepped in, the reception staff greeted me with a smile on their face. When I sat down at the bar, the bar tender immediately made conversation with me despite being busy with other guests as well. He was willing to answer all of my questions and he did so in a friendly and kind manner. He has worked as a bar tender all over the world and still shared how much he truly enjoyed working at the hotel.

What makes Hotel TwentySeven Amsterdam unique for luxury travelers?

Luxury travelers are known for their appreciation of great service. This is one area where Hotel TwentySeven can deliver very well. The hotel is a small luxury boutique hotel, meaning that due to its size, staff members become very familiar with guests. The staff know exactly who their guests are.

Another thing to add to Hotel TwentySeven is that they offer a butler service for every suite. This shows the level of care and attention to detail that the hotel focuses on.

Is Hotel TwentySeven Amsterdam well suited for families?

If you are traveling with kids, you might want to consider a small luxury hotel like this one, as opposed to a bigger property. As mentioned earlier, it is very easy for staff to become well acquainted with guests, since the maximum amount of guests that Hotel TwentySeven, Amsterdam can have at one time is 45. Additionally, the hotel offers special suites for families with kids, such as the Penthouse suite which comes with a living room, a master bedroom, and a second bedroom for the kids. If you are traveling with young kids who might struggle with sitting at a restaurant, this suite comes with a dining table and you can request meals to be brought up to the room.

If you would like to go out at night or if you have a special event, Hotel TwentySeven partners with a nanny service company! So guests can arrange to have a nanny come watch the kids at the hotel.

A great option for families traveling with one small child is Junior Suite, which comes with enough space next to the bed to add a crib upon request. Or a One Bedroom suite, which comes with a living room area, so the crib can be placed there if needed.

Events at Hotel TwentySeven, Amsterdam

For private events, the restaurant has a VIP area for about 16 guests.

Signature Suites at Hotel TwentySeven, Amsterdam

I did not get to see all of their Signature Suites, but I did get to tour their Penthouse Suite and their Tower Dream Suite.

The Tower Dream Suite has a large living room, two bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. It is important to keep in mind that this is a two story suite, there is one bedroom downstairs and one upstairs.

Best time to visit Amsterdam

The weather in Amsterdam can be unpredictable. I would say that if you want to avoid the summer crowds, then the best time to come is between April-May and end of August-mid October. If you want the best weather and don’t mind the crowds too much, then summer (June-August) is the best time to visit.
